FOUNDED IN 2004 BY A FEW HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS…

Camp PALS began as a small camp of 16 pairs of participants. The concept was simple - changing perspectives through relationships built on shared experiences. As Camp PALS has grown, so has the passion within each of our community members. After growing in size to over 115 pairs in our first location in Philadelphia, volunteers stepped forward to help build additional locations across the country. In order to expand our capacity, co-founder Jenni Newbury Ross became Executive Director and began building a team of staff to support the growing organization. Over the years we have brought together over 3,000 unique volunteers and participants to engage in a week-long experience of immersive inclusion. We know based on research and testimonials that our programs change attitudes, transform lives, and inspire a world of belonging. In addition to our summer programs, PALS hosts a variety of virtual and in-person gathering options in the off-season and spreads joy in the Down syndrome community across the world through The Congratulations Project.
